Arrivals & Departures

RHKYC operates a busy boat yard and hardstand at the Causeway Bay clubhouse (Kellett Island) on Hong Kong Island. The boat yard operates six days a week and is pleased to assist competitors arriving for the Etchells Asia Pacific’s and Etchells World Championships.

Arrivals

We ask for all shipping containers to be transported directly to RHKYC in Causeway Bay.  Please email the Boatyard and Marine Operations Manager Simon Pickering at simon.pickering@rhkyc.org.hk and specify the expected date of arrival of your boat and what services you will require.

We further request please if owners can arrange for the arrival of their containers to occur between October 15 and October 27.  As we already have several visiting Etchells, containers arriving prior to the above dates may need to be stored elsewhere at the owners cost.

Departures

The de-rigging and loading service of departing Etchells into containers will occur from Monday the 8 November until all containers are re-packed (we estimate this could be three or four days in total).

What you need to do

It is essential that you inform the boatyard of the arrival of your container and the intended departure date by contacting Simon Pickering. Bookings of all boatyard services are made on a first-in-best-dressed basis.  Owners not making contact with Simon Pickering or containers arriving with no notice may run the risk of not having their boats prepared in time for the racing.

If you have already entered for either of the regattas and completed the arrival and departure date fields in the entry system, then we already have your dates. Thank you.  However, we still require you to contact Simon Pickering  simon.pickering@rhkyc.org.hk so we have your freight forwarders details to manage the logistics for you.

For those who have not yet entered or have entered but not completed the requested arrival and departure date fields, and have also not contacted Simon Picking as yet, we have no indications of your intentions. Please email Simon Pickering at simon.pickering@rhkyc.org.hk as soon as you can.

We also encourage skippers to enter as soon as you can, as this will also allow you to book your departure time slot with the boat yard at RHKYC.
